We will be performing maintenance on our border router at 6AM on Sunday, August 1st which will cause a 5-10 minute disruption of the network path in and out of the EECS network. During this time, all EECS networks will be severed from campus and the Internet.

Wireless network service
Rolling Wi-Fi Outages, 5/18 – 5/28
Beginning Tuesday, May 18th, we will be performing wi-fi upgrades in all EECS network service areas (except BWRC and HMMB). Work will generally proceed floor-by-floor, with each building experiencing rolling wi-fi outages over a two to three day period. All wireless networks will be offline: EECS-Secure, EECS-PSK, AirBears2, eduroam, and CalVisitor.
Please see the schedule below for information specific to your building. If you are currently working on campus, and depend on the wireless network in these locations, please consider working from an alternate location during your building’s maintenance dates. We also recommend checking this post regularly in case of schedule changes.

This Friday, May 7th between 8 and 9AM, we will be performing scheduled maintenance of the EECS-PSK wireless network to prepare for our upcoming wi-fi refresh.
Update: This maintenance was completed without incident and the EECS-PSK network is back online. If you notice any issues, please email us at help@eecs.berkeley.edu.

All Cory Hall networks are offline since 23:24 last night, due to an apparent electrical issue in the Cory network core.
As we have not received an immediate response from facilities services, network staff are preparing to go onsite to investigate.
Network Outage for Sutardja Dai, Blum, Calvin Halls
As of 2:21 pm, networking for Sutardja Dai, Blum, and Calvin Halls is offline. Staff are en route to campus for further investigation.
Update: network connectivity was fully restored at 6:00PM when certain hosts which were causing instability were removed from the network. We will follow up tomorrow with the sysadmins of these hosts to try and prevent future incidents.
Wi-Fi Outage, Cory and Sutardja Dai Halls
From around 6:15 this morning, all wi-fi networks are offline in the following locations:
- Cory Hall 1F
- Cory Hall 3F
- Cory Hall 5F
- Sutardja Dai Hall 2-7F
- SDH NanoLab 5/6F
We have determined the root cause (a firmware bug) but are unable to resolve the issue remotely. We expect service to be restored later this morning.
Update: Service has been restored in all areas as of 10:45AM. Please email help@eecs.berkeley.edu if you notice any continuing issues.
SDH 1F Wi-Fi Outage
As of around 6:46 PM, Sutardja Dai first floor wi-fi is offline due to an apparent failed switch. Staff will be onsite tomorrow and we expect to restore service by the early afternoon.
Update 10/15 8:13AM: Thanks to an assist from one of our IST colleagues who was in the area, wi-fi service on SDH 1F has been restored earlier than expected. We will continue to monitor for stability.
Jacobs Hall Network Outage 2/20/20
The Jacobs Hall network was unstable from approximately 11AM to 11:45AM due to a router malfunction. We restored service and will continue to monitor the router. Please email help@eecs.berkeley.edu if you continue to notice a problem.
IPv6 Coming to EECS Wi-Fi This Weekend (Feb. 15-16)
This weekend, 2/15 through 2/17, we will be enabling IPv6 on the EECS wireless networks. The current plan is to enable on EECS-PSK Saturday, EECS-Secure Sunday, and monitor on Monday. The EECSv6 test network will be abated later in the week and any test users should return to using EECS-Secure.
If your device is registered on the EECS network and has its IPv6 stack enabled, you will receive IPv6 connectivity without any further action needed.
We recommend everyone confirm that their wireless devices have an IPv6 firewall enabled to maintain the security of your machine.
Please email help@eecs.berkeley.edu with any questions or concerns about our IPv6 rollout.
EECS-Secure Authentication Certificate Updated
The certificate used by the EECS-Secure authentication servers (clearpass.eecs.berkeley.edu) has been updated. Wireless devices using EECS-Secure may prompt you to accept the updated certificate before you can reconnect to the network.
Updated certificate files and fingerprints have been published here in case you would like to verify the new certificates or install them on a device.
