IMAP server misbehaving

The department’s IMAP server, imap.eecs.berkeley.edu, is currently experiencing some problems. Symptoms include timeouts when opening folders, and delays accepting new email. Staff are working on the problem, but there is no uptime estimate yet. Updates will be posted on the [IRIS Website](https://iris.eecs.berkeley.edu) as they are available.

Brief Wireless and Imap/Webmail Failure

There was a brief interruption of service to EECS wireless networking, IMAP/Webmail email in Cory Hall this afternoon. The issues have been resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

IMAP Server Upgrade

EECS imap server problem

EECS imap service became unreliable.
Connections to the imap server can either
not be made or are very slow and unreliable.

IMAP access is currently off while staff are trying to resolve the issue. IMAP service will be restored as soon as possible.

Several background IMAP processes have been crashing resulting in the observed behavior. Currently the IMAP server is being patched.

Unplanned IMAP Server Reboot

IMAP Server Unresponsive

The IMAP server became unresponsive at about 18:35 9/11/2008 and had to be rebooted.

The IMAP service is OK now (7pm).

IMAP login stopped working
