Soda Hall Firewall Changes, Mon. 1/24 6AM

At 6AM on Monday, January 24, we will be migrating these two Soda Hall networks to our new border firewall:

128.32.153.0/24 (Soda Hall 7th floor wired)
128.32.168.0/24 (Soda Hall 6th floor wired)

There will be a brief interruption to these networks as they are migrated. After the migration, we encourage system administrators to test that traffic across the firewall is behaving as expected.

EECS Network Outage, 1/18

Most network paths were unavailable today between approx. 13:10 – 13:20 due to a router crash apparently caused by a routine procedure. We are investigating why this occurred. Please contact us at help@eecs.berkeley.edu if you notice any continuing issues.

Sutardja Dai Hall Network Disruption, 1/6/22

Sutardja Dai Hall networks experienced a number of interruptions and outages this morning between 6:44 and 11:21, as a result of electrical maintenance in the building which we were not informed of in advance.

We believe the network to be fully recovered at this time. Please contact us at help@eecs.berkeley.edu if you notice any ongoing issues.

Cory Hall Network Maintenance, 12/27-29

During curtailment, on Mon-Wed December 27th-29th, we will be migrating the Cory Hall access switches from the old core switch to the building core router.

We expect wired networks will be interrupted for about a minute during the migration. Wireless networks may be interrupted for longer (possibly up to 15 minutes). This post will be updated as each stage is completed, or if any schedule changes become necessary.

Monday 12/27 11:30AM-2PM:
1F Cory (except room 165) completed!
Tuesday 12/28 12-3PM:
165 Cory completed!
3F Cory completed!
Wednesday 12/29 12-3PM:
4F Cory completed!
5F Cory completed!

Firewall Changes to Soda Hall 3rd and 4th Floor Networks, Mon. 12/20

At 6AM on Monday, December 20, we will be migrating these two Soda Hall networks to our new border firewall:

128.32.112.0/24 (Soda Hall 3rd floor: primarily rooms 330, 340, and many offices along the East wall)
128.32.132.0/24 (Soda Hall 4th floor: primarily RISE Lab)

There will be a brief interruption to these networks as they are migrated. After the migration, we encourage system administrators to test that traffic across the firewall is behaving as expected.

Cory Hall Network Outage, 10/26/21

We are investigating a network outage affecting Cory Hall which began at about 8am.

Update: The malfunctioning switch was repaired and service was restored as of 9:22 AM.

Cory Hall Network Outage, 9/17/21

The Cory Hall network was offline from about 12:29 – 12:40 due to a malfunction in the building core switch. The issue has been resolved.

Network Maintenance Sun. 8/29 6AM

We will be performing a needed firmware upgrade on the Soda Hall core router at 6AM on Sunday, August 29th. This will cause a disruption of all traffic in and out of the EECS network, as well as traffic between the various Soda Hall networks. We expect this outage will last for between 5 and 20 minutes.

Partial network outage, Cory first floor, 8/18/21

Network staff are aware of a partial network outage on the first floor of Cory Hall, and are investigating. The outage began at 9:41AM.

Update: Service has been restored as of 10:52AM.
