Unplanned East Campus Power Outage

Just before 6:30pm, the campus experienced a wide-spread power outage. Most of the east side of campus remains without power at the time of this writing. There is currently no estimate for when power will be restored.

IRIS services in Soda and Cory will be either shut down imminently, or will soon become unavailable, as UPS power is used up. Once power is safely restored to campus, we will work to bring services back online to the best of our abilities.

Work is in progress to restore campus power, anticipating 6-8 hours for completion (so approx. 3-5am). IRIS staff will monitor the progress in the early morning, and will bring services back up once power is stabilized.

Power was restored ahead of schedule, at about 11:30pm last night. Many core IRIS services (network, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, fileservice) were restarted soon afterwards.

As of 8:55am this morning, we believe that all remaining IRIS services are restored. If you are encountering any issues, we recommend trying a reboot first, and then contacting help@eecs if that doesn’t resolve the problem.
