The Captive Portal device for the EECS AirBears feed stopped responding at 10:11 a.m. It was restarted and returned to service at about 10:40 a.m. Users may have to re-authenticate to use AirBears again.

Wireless AP controllers will be upgraded with the production code on July 20 (Tuesday) at 7:00AM-8:30PM. I will reboot all Cisco AP controllers. I will schedule the wireless network downtime. You may experience that the wireless network will be down for about or less 20 mins for each building during 7:00AM-8:30AM. If everything goes ok, the total hours will take less than 1.5 hours. This upgrade will affect wireless users in Soda, Cory,Citris and BWRC. During this time, the wired network will still work.

On Thursday, May 13 from 9:00 to 10:00PM, there will be a patch to be applied for EECS department RADIUS server. This patch will fix a few issues in configuration replication between the Cluster nodes. Public facing services which depend on RADIUS are EECS-Secure, EECS-Open, and EECS-Guest authentication and accounting. We do not expect this work will cause an outage for these services, as the second, redundant server will remain operational during this time and should not be affected by this work. A one hour outage window has been scheduled in the event of unexpected problems.

We would like to upgrade to the latest release of HMOL, 3.4r3 for some APs at Euclid Brewed Awakening coffee shop area. The latest HMOL release has many new and exciting features, including IPSec VPN access, Performance Sentinel, and improved client statistics. This upgrade should take less than half a hour.

A new AirBears deployment for Cory, Soda, remaining parts of Hearst Mining, Sutardja Dai, and 2108 Allston Way (BWRC) is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3rd between 06:00AM and 08:00AM.

During this outage we will be working with IST to install the new captive portal for EECS. The AirBears network will be intermittently unavailable during this work.
