IRIS Wireless networking maintenance Feb 5 at 10:00pm

February 5, 2011 by Janet Shu

IRIS Cisco AP Wireless controllers will be rebooted for regular maintenance purposes on Feb 5 at 10:00pm. All of the wireless SSIDs will be affected by this. You may experience intermittent connectivity issues while using the wireless networks during this time. Each of the four Access Point controllers will be rebooted one by one. The actual rebooting time may take only about 20 mins to restore wireless service. This maintenance is scheduled from 10:00pm to 12:00am. Please contact networks@eecs if you have any concerns or suggestions.

Thanks,

Network firmware upgrades, Sutardja Dai

November 30, 2010 by IRIS Staff

During this scheduled outage, firmware will be upgraded on each of 3 switches serving the main building in Sutardja Dai Hall. Each switch will be offline for approximately 5 minutes as it is rebooted. The updated code has better features for detecting and mitigating remote loops introduced by users. This will enable us to prevent future disruptions like the one experienced last Wednesday.

AirBears service throughout EECS will be disrupted during one of the reboots.
