Now blocking lpd/IPP printer access from off-campus

As of 10am Monday, January 14, we are further blocking some access from off-campus devices to printers on the EECS production networks. In particular, incoming traffic to port 515 (lpd) and port 631 (IPP) is currently blocked by the department firewall.

Using the campus VPN is one way to work around this block, if you need to print from off-campus. Feel free to contact help@eecs if your printing needs require an alternate solution.

January 2019 Windows Server Patching

Microsoft will release their patches for the month on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019.

PRINT, WINTERM and WDS will automatically patch and reboot Wednesday, January 9th, at 3:00 am.

WINTERM may be unavailable till 10:00 am Wednesday, January 9th, depending on additional software updates.

Resolved as of 2019-01-09 06:00:00
