Campus Authentication Issues, 4/30/18

The campus CalNet Authentication Service (CAS) appears to only be functioning intermittently at this time. Services which rely on CAS authentication (AirBears2, campus VPN, many department and campus Web pages, etc.) may intermittently fail.

IST is working to diagnose the issue and will post updates at ucbsystems.org.

IRIS services which rely on IRIS authentication (i.e. EECS-Secure, many IRIS Web pages) continue to function normally. We are monitoring the situation and will post an update here when we have one.

Note that as the issue is intermittent and only pertains to authentication, you may be able to re-try a few times to authenticate successfully, after which the service you are accessing should behave normally. For example, it may take a few attempts to connect to AirBears2, but once you are connected the network should work.

Campus announces that the datacenter firewalls and associated services have been stable since 11:40AM, and that further troubleshooting will be performed tonight after 10PM.
