Scheduled Maintenance for Wireless Authentication Services

November 26, 2014 by Derek Calderon

On Wednesday, November 26th at 4-5PM we will be installing updated TLS certificates on our primary wireless authentication (RADIUS) server and on the EECS-Guest web authentication portal. Due system redundancy, no outages are expected, except for a possible brief interruption in EECS-Guest authentication. Existing connections will not be lost, but there may be a short period in which users cannot initiate new connections to EECS-Guest. In this event, we recommend the use of CalVisitor until EECS-Guest is responding again.

UPDATE

[2014-11-26 16:32:15 | Derek Calderon]

This maintenance has been completed without any outages. All services are currently online and using updated TLS certificates.

When connecting to EECS-Secure, you may encounter a message asking whether you would like to trust the new certificate. Feel free to trust the certificate as long as the fingerprint/thumbprint shown matches the one below:

f4 f1 73 6f c9 69 e3 c4 0e f2 a8 10 05 b9 16 54 00 62 75 d1

Please contact help@eecs.berkeley.edu if you are experiencing any issues with the wireless network.

Happy Thanksgiving!
