Networks affected: EECS, EECS-Secure, EECS-Open, EECS-Guest, EECS-Robonet, EECS-Viper, 326capture, 540capture, AirBears, AirBears2, attwifi.
Locations affected: Soda Hall, Cory Hall, Sutardja Dai Hall, Calvin Lab, Blum Hall, Sibley Auditorium, Hearst Memorial Mining Building
Additionally, the following changes are being made to EECS wireless network offerings:
EECS: this network will be renamed to EECS-PSK and the security protocol will be changed from WEP to WPA2-PSK, which is much more secure. The preshared key (password) used to access the network will not change.
EECS-Open: this network will no longer be offered.
326capture and 540capture: these networks are being merged into a single network called EECS-Capture. The preshared key will not change.
Simons: the Simons SSID will no longer be offered.

The majority of the wireless upgrades and changes have been completed, the new SSID offerings are now in place, and the EECS wireless networks are once again online.
There is an ongoing issue with AirBears2 authentication, and we have contacted IST’s oncall staff in hopes of coming to a quick solution.
This news post will be updated once more when all networks, including AirBears2, are fully operational.

All upgrades and changes have been completed, and all wireless networks in all EECS locations are now fully operational as of 3PM.
