The Building Manager has a call in to campus to fix the PDU and we’re in a holding pattern until then. Building and technical staff are working to restore everything as soon as possible.
When there is a update, it will be posted here on IRIS NEWS.
UPDATE
[2012-11-29 22:23:18 | Lars Rohrbach]
At approximately 4:30pm, one of three power panels in computer machine room 165 went down. Approximately 40% of the machines went down including the network switch for the room. The failure was the result of a circuit breaker failure inside the Power Distribution Unit (PDU). This breaker was replaced and service was restored as of 5:45pm.
Unfortunately, at about 8:12pm, it appears that the same panel went down again. Building staff have been notified.
This outage also affects some Instructional machines, such as cory.eecs and license-srv.eecs.
UPDATE

Machines have been moved to alternate power sources. The UPS has been taken out of the critical path for this room.
