November 3, 2012 by Janet Shu

Airbears users are not able to get the ip address leases from Airbears. Campus Airbears team are looking into it now. We will give you some updates as soon as we hear from them.

UPDATE

[2012-11-04 12:20:19 | Aaron Culich]

ANNOUNCEMENT Sutardja Dai Hall 11/3/2012, Saturday 3:00pm – 11:59pm

Equipment: sut3cp, sut5cp, sut6cp, sut8cp Location: Sutardja Dai Hall Date: 11/3/2012, Saturday Start: 3:00pm End: 11:59pm

Description: AirBears wireless network service was impacted yesterday. Starting around 3:00pm, the Dutardja Dai Hall MDC HVAC failed, resulting high temperature in the MDC that houses several captive portal (CP) servers. Due to the high temperature, the CP servers may have gone offline at the same time, or one by one over several hours, during which users who tried to authenticate to AirBears may not have been able to do so. PPCS was later contacted, dispatched, and restored the MDC to normal temperature. The offline CP servers were brought back online around mid-night.

If you continue to experience AirBears service issue, please contact IST Service Desk at 642-5800.
