We are investigating reports that Windows/CIFS shares from home.eecs and project.eecs became unavailable around 3pm today.

While we continue to work with NetApp on this, we are aware of some (typically Linux) clients now experiencing NFS errors as well.

The issue with Windows shares from home.eecs and project.eecs continued throughout the day as our staff worked with NetApp support, and even Linux/NFS shares had some trouble between about 11am and 3pm, which caused trouble for a number of webservers.
As of 7:30pm, CIFS shares should be back to normal — all Windows shares should again be available.
Now that we’ve completed internal testing to be assured of service stability, we can resolve this incident.
