EECS Exchange Server Issues

March 16, 2007 by Lars Rohrbach

Exchange mail servers FONTUS and OWA are having problems communicating with EECS domain controllers. Users with Exchange accounts may not be able to access their email, either via Outlook or Outlook Web Access. Staff are investigating the problem.

UPDATE

[2007-03-16 12:08:45 | Lars Rohrbach, IRIS Staff]

Access to Exchange mail appears to be functional again for now. We have narrowed the cause of the situation to some combination of Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (on the EECS domain controllers) and the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) service. We will continue to investigate the problem.
