No systems were affected by the loss of battery backup, but at this time all systems in 290 Soda are fully reliant on building power. This includes many IRIS and Instructional systems and services.
We will update this News item with the expected timeline of replacing the battery backup, as that information becomes available.
Replacement of batteries may take a week or more, depending on availability from the vendor.

All 40 batteries are in need of replacing.
APC-Schneider Electric sent two technicians out on Monday, July 18, to install the first pallet of 20 batteries that was shipped. This work was completed, but these batteries will not be put into actual use until after the remaining 20 batteries are received and installed.
We are scheduled to install remaining 20 batteries in 290 Soda on July 21, at 8:00 a.m.
APC-Schneider Electric is sending two technicians from its affiliate battery company- NOR-CAL to install the 20 batteries; however only Schneider Electric techs are authorized to bring the back-up system back online.
APC-Schneider is expected to fully power-up the UPS system sometime Thursday, July 21, or Friday, July 22.

The remaining 20 batteries were delivered, and installed on the morning of Thursday, July 21. It was determined that the UPS was not calibrating charge properly, and was calling for charging beyond the maximum charge specified for the battery packs.
On Friday, July 22, a field engineer from Schneider Electric successfully recalibrated the unit, and brought the power backup system back online. All backup power to our machine room is once again functional.
