Windows

The EECS department maintains a large and comprehensive Windows environment, which is tightly integrated with our Unix environment. The EECS Active Directory replaced obsolete NT4 domains, substantially streamlined the Windows environment, and offered more advanced features and services.

Some highlights of interest to the general user include:

  • Easy installation of software without needing to log in as administrator.
  • OS installation over the network.
  • Integrated sign-on to Windows machines throughout the department.

We maintain quite a bit of documentation regarding Windows including installation, software usage, and even who to call in case you get stuck.
