Mail List Server Maintenance, March 23 8pm-12am

The Department’s Mailing List server lists.eecs.berkeley.edu wlll be down for maintenance Wednesday, March 23rd at 8pm for a major upgrade. The [Sympa](http://www.sympa.org/) mailing list software will be upgraded from version 5.4.5 to the most current version, 6.2.14.

We hope the upgrade will be completed by 10pm but are scheduling extra time in case of unexpected problems.

Mailing list owners and editors may wish to review the [Sympa release notes](http://www.sympa.org/distribution/latest-stable/NEWS) for a summary of changes.

The upgrade to lists.eecs.berkeley.edu has been completed. All lists have been migrated over and the server is now processing any messages sent in the last couple of hours.

The new web interface has a very different appearance, but the functionality is essentially the same. We will be upgrading our documentation over the next few weeks to reflect the changes, but in the meantime feel free to email help@eecs if you have any questions.
