Performance problems with project storage

November 18, 2011 by Rob McNicholas

We have had various reports of slow access times and “out of space” errors when trying to read or write files on project storage. Staff are currently investigating the problem.

If you are experiencing problems, please send the following details to help@eecs:

– name / IP address of client having problems – description of problem or error message – type of access -NFS or CIFS? – name of share you are trying to access

Updates will be posted to this article when we know more.

UPDATE

[2011-11-18 15:17:29 | Aaron Culich]

Project storage ran out of available inodes which resulted in “out of space” errors on systems when they could no longer write to the volume. The available inodes number has been increased and the volume is no writable again.
