Network failure: 3rd Floor Soda Hall

July 2, 2007 by IRIS Staff

The network switch that serves half of the the 3rd floor of Soda
(specifically the 128.32.112.0/24 net) had a major failure this
afternoon. Service was restored at about 3:50 this afternoon by power cycling the box. However, the type of failure seen is one that suspected to return. We will make preparations in case the management module or chassis needs to be replaced. There may not be a lot of waning if this happens again.
