Calendar Service Update

April 24, 2006 by IRIS Staff

The Calendar web client is now mostly functioning. There are lingering issues with the room reservation system at http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/Resguide/roomsched.shtml

Due to various technical reasons, the service hosting the web client has changed. If you log in to the web client through the following URL

http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/calendar

Then you need to make no changes, and you’ll be redirected properly. However, if you have the calendar login page bookmarked, and are trying to reach something that looks like…

https://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/ocas-bin/ocas.fcgi?sub=web

Or anything with “ocas.fcgi” listed in it, you should either use the “/calendar” URL, or change the host portion of the ocas-bin URL to
use port 8081, a la…

https://www.eecs.berkeley.edu:8081/ocas-bin/ocas.fcgi?sub=web

If none of the above made any sense to you, your existing bookmark
doesn’t work, but http://www.eecs.berkeley.edu/calendar works, then
change your existing bookmark to www.eecs.berkeley.edu/calendar; or just go there, delete your existing bookmark, and bookmark the new page.

There is an intermittent problem where the infamous “Message Catalog Unavailable” error messages seem to be occuring more frequently than before. I’m waiting on feedback from Oracle.
