Install via Disk
NOTE: Make sure your machine is physically disconnected from any network connection before you install Windows. Otherwise your machine may become compromised and need to be reinstalled again.
Installing Windows 10 via DVD/USB
DVD media may be borrowed from the Helpdesk after you have filled out the system activation request and received a response confirming network support.
The Windows 10 DVD is a special volume-licensed version of Windows 10 Enterprise for EECS. You should be able to boot from the DVD or run setup.exe in order to install Windows. You should not be prompted to enter a product key.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10.
When prompted to log into a Microsoft Account, you may log into your own personal account if available, otherwise click on “Create Local Account” and complete the boxes. Ensure that you use the approved Computer Name you registered with the department.
Be sure to follow the instructions below for installing updates and activating Windows.
If you require digital media, please bring an empty 8gb or larger USB drive to the Helpdesk and they will assist in creating a bootable Windows USB Stick.
