- EECS DHCP Service RestoredWe believe that DHCP service for EECS wired networks has been restored as of this afternoon (Friday, August 28). If you have a system on the wired network which cannot obtain an IP address, even after rebooting, please email dcalderon@berkeley.edu with the system’s MAC address and the cable ID it is connected to. - IRIS Services DownWe are aware that all IRIS services are currently down. More information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.
- login.eecs offlineOur unix login server, login.eecs, is temporarily offline. We will be building a new virtual machine to replace it, and hope to have it in service by tomorrow.
- Update to nameservers, NTP serversWe have maintained our own recursive nameservers within EECS for many years, enabling client machines to resolve hostnames to IP addresses. These servers also functioned as local NTP (time) servers. In the spirit of simplification, we are retiring these machines and will be utilizing campus servers for these services. - CIFS shares from Project/Home unavailableWindows and MacOS systems use CIFS shares on our NetApp fileservers for home directories and project space. With the sunsetting of our EECS Active Directory, we are in the process of migrating our NetApp to the Campus Active Directory.
