Wireless Networks Offline, Monday 1/5

January 5, 2026 by Derek Calderon

As of about 11:51 AM: wireless networks are offline due to a power issue in one of the campus network core sites. Wired networks are unaffected and continue to operate normally. We will update again when we have more information about the status of the campus network core.

Update 13:36: Campus has begun restoring power to the network core using temporary connections, so we expect to see some wi-fi service resume. However, wi-fi may experience some continuing instability as the work to restore full power goes on.

Update 17:02: Power has been restored and network services should be fully available. There may be some late-night wi-fi disruptions as staff perform some cleanup work.

Please contact us at help@eecs.berkeley.edu if you have any questions.
