Department jabber/xmpp server down

After routine maintenance this morning at 8am, the department’s jabber server would not restart. Staff are currently investigating the problem.

The firewall on jabber.eecs was not properly configured, and after rebooting it reverted to an overly-restrictive setting. I have fixed this problem, and apologize for the outage.
