Cadence License Server outage

September 7, 2012 by Rob McNicholas

The Cadence license server (bisc.eecs.berkeley.edu) is not serving licenses at this time. The issue is reported to have started sometime on Friday.

The problem appears to be related to the recent installation of some operating system patches. Staff are working to resolve the problem.

UPDATE

[2012-09-10 16:56:54 | Lars Rohrbach]

We are migrating Cadence license service to an alternate machine. Service should resume as normal after tonight’s DNS update, which takes place between 2 and 3 a.m.

If you are comfortable in editing your own Cadence licensing setup, you can change “bisc” to “bsac2” in the meantime.

UPDATE

[2012-09-11 07:58:25 | Lars Rohrbach]

The DNS update completed last night, and licenses are being successfully issued from the new machine. You can continue using “bisc” as your license server for Cadence licensing.
