EECS DHCP Outage, May 19th

May 19, 2026 by Derek Calderon

We experienced an issue with our DHCP service this morning, which prevented a number of machines from connecting to the wired network. This issue began around 3AM and was resolved by 10:30AM. If your machine still cannot get online, we suggest rebooting it to try and obtain a new DHCP lease.

We believe that this configuration issue was triggered by yesterday’s datacenter firewall issues. We will be improving our scripts to allow us to better detect and mitigate similar issues in the future.

Please contact us at help@eecs.berkeley.edu if you have any questions, or if you continue to experience network issues.
